Eligibility Criteria to Get
Getting a medical certificate from Virtual Clinic is designed for convenience, but it's important to understand our eligibility criteria and scope of service. As a telehealth service, we are not a substitute for in-person GP consultations for critical care and emergencies.
Online Medical Certificates: What You Need to Know
For Students and Employees: We provide online medical certificates specifically for sick leave. This service is available to employees and higher education students over 18 years of age.
For Ongoing Minor Illnesses: An online sick certificate is only applicable for ongoing minor illnesses such as the common cold, cough, sore throat, headache, upset stomach, and mild stress. Please remember, we cannot backdate the document, so you must contact us on the day you take your leave and while you are still sick.
Certificate Frequency: To ensure fair access, clients are eligible to receive one medical certificate every 90 days.

Not included
Restricted Prescriptions:
✖️ This includes controlled medications (e.g., Lyrica, opiates, benzodiazepines) and medications needing close monitoring such as antipsychotics.
Certificates/Reports Requiring Physical Examination:
✖️ Examples include illness benefit certification for social welfare, ergonomic assessments for workplace/home office setups, driver’s license (NDLS) medical reports, fitness for work certification, fit for sports certificates, and fit for travel/fly certificates.
Referrals for Tests and Investigations:
✖️ This service does not cover blood tests or radiological investigations like X-ray, CT scan, or MRI scans.

When will I get my certificate?
Certificate Wait Time
Once applications are submitted, the review and issuance process depends on the package plan you choose. People opting for Ultra Fast mode will get an Unfit-For-Travel Certificate sent via email within 4 hours. On the other hand, patients choosing the Standard mode will get an online medical certificate sent through email within 24 hours.
Is the Unfit-for-Travel Certificate recognised by airlines and insurance companies?

We examine everything from injury or illness symptoms to experiencing certain conditions, and follow-up assessments related to your condition to confirm full recovery.
Can I Request Any Changes Or An Extension To My Sick Cert?
Changes or Time Extensions
It is possible to make certain changes to your symptoms or, if you feel like you need to extend your sick leave period, the process might incur a fee in case a re-evaluation is necessary or if your doctor's sick note has already been issued.
